So much has happened for the past few weeks.
Last May we had an unscheduled vacation to Hongkong. The only reason why we went was to bring Yana to Hongkong Disneyland. Good thing I got Yana her passport the minute she turned 6 months, so unplanned trips like this may happen.
Yana had a great time. Seeing disneyland through Yana's eyes, made me appreciate the place more. I've seen the better version of the theme park, but in that trip, it seemed like the best theme park ever! Hahaha! Now I'm going to do everything to take Yana to the bigger and better versions of her theme park, I can just imagine the awe and wonder in her face when she sees them all.
I can safely say that Yana has truly changed my outlook on things.

now i have a theory where the words "mama" and "papa" originally came from...its probably the first syllables babbled by their children. as for yana, she first kept on repeating "pah-pah-pah" much to jayvee's delight. then it became "jajajajaja" and jv would coach her into saying "dadi" and she would say "jaji". talo talaga ako. but its ok, i don't compete because i know that yana fights off sleep when she sees me come home (jv comes home much earlier than i do), when jv and i stand side by side with our arms outstretched, she chooses me to carry her. that's why i'm not in a rush to hear her say "mami". but still, it would be nice pa rin. hehehe.
after talking, now she's walking! she can stand up on her own and she would sit down when bored or when she's unable to balance. then the other night, she just walked her first 3 steps! what a milestone! and as expected, everyone said, you should've videoed it. but how could we have known she would suddenly walk?
i guess that's another milestone na ibabaon na lang sa alala.

After more than 8 years in Iberpacific/Soluziona, I have finally decided to explore opportunities outside the college-like-haven provided by Sz. As the others would say, its now welcome to the real world. Thanks to the great influence of my current PM, he has made me realize it's time to go. As to the details of this influence, let me use his own words "that's another history"....yeeeesssss!
I am scared yet excited with the thought of working somewhere else. It's like starting another project, you don't know what's in store for you. You just hope the client will be a nice, reasonably demanding client. Now, I'll think of my new job as another client. This time, it'll be the client that's going to sign my paycheck! hahaha!
Metrobank, Superpinggay is on the way!

We finally bought a carseat for DLYP. This is because her carrier is no longer able to seat DLYP in comfort. I guess my baby is really big now that the carrier is too small for her!
The problem is that she doesn't like being in the carrier. Actually there are times that she's ok with it, there are times she cries and cries until i decide to pick her up.
Yesterday, when Jayvee brought home the carseat, we tried sitting DLYP there and after 5 seconds, she started crying. Jayvee consulted with me first before buying the carseat. He wanted to know if I will be committed into using the carseat. He said that until Yana gets used to the carseat, she will be crying and I have to resist the urge to carry her.
This is something that I have to do because her safety should come first. It'll be hard for the first few car trips. I'm hoping she'll get used to it so that she won't have to cry anymore.
The coming weekend will be the test of my endurance!!!! In fact, to prepare Yana, I told Jayvee that we have to start putting her on the carseat during the drive from our house to my mom's house and vice versa.
Good luck to all of us!

its been a while since i last read the blog of friends. actually its only now that i had the chance to catch up with what's happening with them. a good friend now has a special someone, the little island baby of another friend is now growing her molars, while the baby of another friend is now teething.
eventhough i don't get to email these people or even send them a text message, reading through their blogs makes me feel that they are not that far from me. in a way i still get to keep in touch with what's going on with their lives. this made me realize the value of having a blog.
good thing i learned how to set-up one. though i envy some blogs that are better designed. i don't know if its because of the chosen blog site or i'm just not cut out for that kind of savviness in designing.
in my case, what's important are the contents and attached pictures. =)

Tonight, I will be in-charge of DLYP. Ordinarily it wouldn't be a problem for me. You see, once a week, Jayvee has choir practice. So when he's in the practice, naturally that night will be my night to look after DLYP since he'll be home around 11-12mn.
However, for tonight, Jayvee will have to proceed to his stations for inventory and he's estimating to be home around 3-4am. That means, the whole night, it's just me and DLYP! Considering her new sleeping habits, what lies ahead for me tonight is a question mark. Will she wake up cranky? Will she sleep through the night?
There is only one thing I can do...and to quote my current Project Manager whose english is totally superb (SURE! SURE!)..."DON'T BE SCARY".
Afraid!

My dearest darling-little-yana-princess or DLYP for short is now teething and is in agony over it. Not including this week, my DLYP is able to sleep for a straight 7-8 hours. She would sleep around 730pm and be awake by 3-330am, for milk and go back to sleep and be awake by 5-530am, in time for me or Jayvee to take a bath while one of us watches over her (we don't let the yaya take over because this is our only quality time with DLYP during weekdays). This arrangement is beneficial for all 3 of us. We all get to sleep and rest. With this kind of schedule, Jayvee and I would take turns on who will be in-charge of feeding her should she wake up before 5am.
Then for this week, everything changed! DLYP would wake up around 930pm and sleep an hour after! Sometimes she would even wake up around 3am and after 30 mins would allow us to lull her to sleep (she refuses to eat and is just plain irritable) and then before 5am she would be awake again. Since the pedia advised us that anytime now her first tooth would arrive, all the signs are there, we figured she must be in pain because when she cries at night, we see that she's very sleepy because of her droopy eyes. Normally she would just sleep but maybe because of the pain, she wakes up and cries. If anything, we are thankful that she can still go back to sleep, some moms tell us that sometimes their baby would be awake the whole night!
Its very hard for me to see DLYP going through this painful stage of her infant life. However, I can only assure her that her mommy and daddy is always here for her and that as much we want her to have a painless teething, some things are just beyond our control.
I guess this is also how God trains parents that as much as we want to protect and shelter our children from the harshness of reality, they have to experience it for themselves for them to be a better and stronger person in the end. Imagine if I am able to prevent her from experiencing the pain of teething, she'd be toothless for life! She'd kill me!!!!!
I just wish she get her first tooth so that we have something to add to her diary of Yana's Firsts. Also, so that our sleeping schedule would go back to normal.

This is a pix of Yana on her 3rd month. i will look for more updated pictures of her. The ribbon on her hair is a make-shift ribbon, its actually the belt of her dress, Jayvee turned it into a ribbon. Despite wearing a pink dress and having earrings, someone asked me "ping, boy or girl?"!!!!
